Since 1980, Professor Fusco has been using the Hi-Power formula in her practice of clinical nutrition, with successful results.

Among the key features of the Hi-Power supplement are: RNA (ribonucleic acids) for cell energy, the best available, most effective and bio-available selenium (according to very recent studies) , magnesium glycerophosphate for the nervous system and other forms of this mineral so important for proper heart function. There are 300mg of calcium to equal a glass of milk, and a well balanced group of B vitamins and minerals.

Originally, the Hi-Power supplement contained spleen, thymus, liver and placenta. The current formula contains no animal products, but resveratrol, lycopene, and other phytonutrients for boosting the immune system. Even the gelatin cap has been replaced with a vegetarian capsule. Other antioxidants, in addition to selenium, include a buffered form of Vitamin C, Vitamin A and the carotenoids, as well as Vitamin E in two forms: 200 units of the best biologically available succinate form, and 200 units of mixed tocopherols, which include the gamma form, important for cardiovascular and cerebral circulation. Small quantities of SOD and catalase, although not absorbed by the small intestine, may he beneficial locally.

Vitamin D is included to help calcium absorption, and for its other functions as a vitamin/hormone.

Just as important as the nutrients included in the Hi-Power formula are the nutrients not included: Iron and Vitamin K.

As the body recycles iron from the degradation of old red cells, most adults do not need extra iron which can be a potent oxidant. Almost half of the Vitamin K one needs is made in the small intestine, and it is readily, available from green vegetables. More importantly, Vitamin K may be counterproductive for the many people taking blood thinners.

The Hi-Power capsules are taken in divided doses with meals. Recommended dose is six capsules a day, although two twice a day will provide considerable benefits. Now with vegetarian capsules -not gelatin. (180 capsules)
